Ubuntu 12.04 won't fit 1920x1280 screen

Just put Ubuntu on my friends desktop computer. Everything is running fine, but it doesn't seem to completely fit the screen I installed it using the live CD that I burned a little while ago. It's the 32 bit version. Any ideas as to why the screen will not fit? Even though it's set to the highest resolution available in the 'Displays' settings?

Try change the depth, sometimes it is too high and the adapter can't handle it, lower depth may allow higher resolutions in some cases.
You can also use xrandr to adjust the resolution, yet another way is to edit the xorg.conf, and you may find different approaches to fix it.

Regards
