Unhappy Timeshift will not restore snapshots in WD My Passport Ultra


Now i am missing some Home data - when i go to Timeshift browse to WD My Passport ( where my snapshots are that i need to restore from ) i am seeing a red bar saying Elevated Privileges & a green Nemo folder box in snapshots with a sort of tick/arrow going up thru the bottom right . Not able to restore ? any suggestions please anyone ? Need address books & financials back etc ... inxi -Fxz

Sounds like you have root owned files and you are trying to overwrite them with user permissions. I always run backups as root and restore as root to preserve all permissions. But I don't use timeshift or gui stuff for that and have no idea about it, but the permissions message is almost certainly because some of the restored files to be overwritten are root owned.
