TeamSpeak problems on new kernels

I have been having problems with my USB headset in TeamSpeak when running newer kernels. Specifically, since kernel 2.6.14, I have been unable to get reliable audio output from it. In 2.6.14, it would lock up TeamSpeak, but now on 2.6.17.8, it just causes the audio output to stop working, while the microphone does work. Once in awhile, the output will work for a bit, but then usually stops again after a few minutes.

If I tell XMMS or VLC to use the headset though, that works properly.

The strange thing is, on my brother's computer, which is running Kubuntu 6.06 with a kernel of 2.6.15-23 (I have no idea what the -23 means), it seems to work alright. I installed 2.6.15 on my own machine to see if I could replicate it, and it didn't work there either.

Does anyone know what I can do to find the problem here? I don't know enough about ALSA/OSS to figure out the missing link here.

Hi

Don't know if this will help, but try http://alsa.opensrc.org/asym which I found as a link in the second article here: http://crache.net/2006/05/06/logitec...hone-in-linux/ which was posted as a reply to this LQ thread: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=304709

Cheers
Richard

PS I don't use Teamspeak, nor do I have a Logitech microphone!
