Setup 3D desktop on Ubuntu with Matrox G450

Hello, everybody.
I've just installed Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy) and I'd like to make something like XGL/Compiz work on my computer.
However, I can't find any step-by-step instruction on doing this with my Matrox G450 graphics card. Seems like I'm seeking in a wrong direction, ain't it ?

I'll be very greatful for any advice on how to have this done.

Thank in advance,
Dan.

Do you have the Matrox Drivers from their site installed. You'll need the mga.o and mga_hal_drv.o for DRI to work on the Matrox cards.
