Here is my situation:

I have a Canon Pixma MX 700 (http://www.openprinting.org/show_pri...on-PIXMA_MX700) connected to a Windows Vista machine on my network. The printer shares with other Windows computers just fine but obviously not with my Ubuntu 9.04 machines as the printer is not supported on linux.

Here is my idea:
Is it possible to set up a web interface on the Windows machine which allows me to submit PDF files through a browser from any computer on the local network(read linux machines) that will then automatically print the PDF on the physical printer?

Is there a (free) program that allows me to do this?

PS. By the way, I have tried Turbo Print (http://www.zedonet.com/en_shop_turboprint.phtml) and the trial version works great for printing over the network share. I am not willing to spend $40 to continue using the program after the trial ends.

Have you tried the one mentioned in the notes right after turboprint on the page you linked to ?

My understanding is that the cups-bjnp allows me to do what I am currently doing as long as I have the Turboprint driver -- which I won't have once the trial runs out.

In order to print to a Windows Only Printer, a method easy to
implement is to create a Virtual Printer on Windows which uses
Ghostscript to convert the data from postscript to the window
printer format. The virtual printer receives postscript and
as such can be shared and accessed via samba from any Linux
host.

This uses a combination of Ghoscript, gsprint (part of GSView)
and Redmon.
