"NetworkManager Applet" not reporting correct connection status

The "NetworkManager Applet" within my notification area is reporting that I am disconnected, though I am not.

Not really a problem, but this applet was working before...it just all of the sudden stopped working.

Anyone experience this?

you could try restarting the Network-manager-gnome applet..

/etc/dbus-1/event.d/25NetworkManager restart

per the readme: /usr/share/doc/network-manager/README.Debian

also per the readme
Quote:
Only devices that are *not* listed in /etc/network/interfaces or which have
been configured "auto" and "dhcp" (with no other options) are managed by NM.
