Minte-meta-mate desktop still showing in login screen.

Hello,

I have installed for testing the Minte-meta-mate desktop under Cinnamon. I didn't like it and autoremoved and purged it from the system.
Unfortunetly it is still showing in the Logon screen. How can i remove it even from there?
Thanks for your help. See picture what i mean. https://www.cengolio.com/screen-login.jpg
Thanks

I have no idea whether this will work, but you could try deleting the mate.desktop file in /usr/share/xsessions (or, safer, move the file somewhere else so that you can move it back if things go awry). I would recommend making a TimeShift snapshot before you do this, just in case.

In future, if you're only installing something for short-term testing, it is useful to make a TimeShift snapshot first. Then, after you've done the testing, you can revert to that snapshot if you so wish.

Thanks for the solution. Now it doesn't show up anymore. You are right next time I should care about the Timeshift snapshot. I just switsched from Win to linux a week a go and love it. Just Adobe Acrobat is missing.

No problem. I'm glad it's working for you. If you want, you can mark the thread as "Solved" (see "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread).

By Acrobat, do you mean Acrobat Reader or the more powerful Acrobat program that allows PDF editing, etc.? If the former, there are plenty of alternatives - you can use XReader on Mint, for example. If the latter, there are also alternatives such as Master PDF Editor (there is a free and a paid version of the application).

Please don't hesitate to ask on here if you need to know more about any applications or you come across any issues that need resolving!
