Minor problem with browser menu fonts

Is it me or do the fonts in the menus of my internet browser(firefox)seem just a little too big than the rest of my fonts on my desktop. Anyway to do a hack to make the fonts smaller

I'm going to guess that you're using kde as your desktop environment. But Firefox is a gtk+ application, and doesn't obey qt desktop settings like fonts and such.

There is a package that lets gtk apps use the qt rendering engine, so that you can have a unified look. The package is called gtk-qt-engine. Install that and your programs should match better.

Firefox obeys gtkrc-settings.

I've got for example something like that in my .gtkrc.mine which is sourced into .gtkrc-2.0:

style "user-font" {
font_name = "Bitstream Vera Sans 8"
}

widget_class "*" style "user-font"

gtk-font-name="Bitstream Vera Sans 8"
gtk-xft-antialias = 1
gtk-xft-hinting=1
gtk-xft-hintstyle=full
gtk-xft-rgba=rgb
gtk-xft-dpi=98304
gtk-icon-theme-name="Iris"

and so on.
