LibreOffice - How to Print Mailing Labels

I "think" what I may be looking for is mail merge or whatever it's called on libreoffice, but I don't know how to do it or what it does for sure.

If not, what we want to do, is take the output of a contact database base file, a report, and print mailing labels from the addresses, without knowing dimensions of the labels each time and maybe never knowing the dimensions, because we don't know how to get those dimensions.

This would be part of sending out our possible monthly newsletter. We don't want to pay for software, and we want to be able to use it in a business, legally.

But, if there was some software we could install that did what we wanted under a free license or something, we could use that software instead of the mail merge if that is straightforward enough. We like our contact database right now, and if we had to use another contact system, we would want just the contacts in it that opted in to the newsletter.

They are either employees, vendors, or customers, but the process for sending out a newsletter should be able to be the same. If they have an e-mail address and have not told us to use the mailing address, then we send it by e-mail. If they told us they want it by mail, then we use the mail and would want mailing lables for them all. We only do any of this if they opted in to the newsletter. If they have not opted in to it, the default is don't send it.

We are just testing this process for now, but the newsletter would either be written in Word, publisher, or a libreoffice program, such as writer.

Regarding the dimensions, you can easily find templates for various sizes of mailing labels. I've used ones from Avery with no issue.

As for the merge, I fear I cannot help.
