KwikDisk in Mepis ? ubuntu

I use KwikDisk in Mepis 6.5

my fstab look like this

root@1[root]# cat /etc/fstab
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs noauto 0 0
/dev/pts /dev/pts devpts mode=0622 0 0
# Dynamic entries below, identified by 'users' option
/dev/sda1 /mnt/sda1 vfat,ext3,ext2,reiserfs noauto,users,exec 0 0
/dev/sda2 /mnt/sda2 ntfs-3g noauto,users 0 0
/dev/sda3 /mnt/sda3 vfat,ext3,ext2,reiserfs noauto,users,exec 0 0
/dev/cdrom /media/cdrom iso9660,udf noauto,users,exec,ro 0 0

I am verry happy that mepis scan /dev/ and update fstab automaticly

Q1: how to port this feature to Kubuntu ?
I allready install KwikDisk, but I want to know what script is responsible with uptading of fstab.

Thanks

Is not a KUBUNTU problem.
Is a MEPIS feature.
I search somebody that know how it work on mepis, because I want to port this feature to many other dirstro, ubuntu, kubuntu, slackware etc.

KiwikDisk is a removable media utility present in KDE, and is usefull to mount/umount in graphical mode.

My question is, what tool update fstab table automaticly in simply mepis distro.

I will ask on mepislovers.org to, but I ask first on LQ.
Maybe someone know another solution to update fstab, with present devices and to auto recognize fs type.

Thanks.
