Installing a USB printer, can

I have a DeskJet 842C and am installing it on my system. I have the driver ready and everything, but I can't get my system to see it. It's hooked up through USB and the USB Devices app shows it. When I try to add a new printer though, (Using LPR/LPRng, CUPS seems to be broken on my machine) it doesn't see it. I don't know how to find its URI or assign it one. Any ideas?
