How limit resources used by Nepomuk, or disable it without causing problems.
Hi, I am using KDE 4.7.0 on Arch Linux.
Recently, I have noticed that Nepomuk is very greedy with resources, going up to 99% of processing time according to top. This makes my computer unbearably slow. I have tried disabling Nepomuk, but KDE keeps crashing, and I think it is related to having Nepomuk disabled, but I'm not sure. I can't figure out any pattern to the crashes, it happens at random times, even if the computer is idle, and I am not touching input.
So my questions, which may or may not be related are:
Can I set limits to how much processor time Nepomuk can use (preferabbly something autamtic rather than having to manually renice it every session)?
What can I do to stop KDE from periodically crashing (if this isn't related to Nepomuk how can I know, and I will start a new thread for it)?
How can I prevent the annoying popups informing me that Nepomuk is disabled? I have tried changing settings in the clock, and in the knotify applet, and neither stopped the notifications.
