How can I empty all trash locations or delete the trash folders?

I have multiple trash bins throughout my system. There is the desktop bin but there is also hidden bins in different locations. I recently saw one that wa called Trash-0 and one called Trash-1000. How do I find all trash locations and empty them all at once?

First of all you should disable Trash functionality, to avoid these bins being recreated.
In my case it was enough to disable it from my filemanager's settings.

Then, you can possibly find the bins
  • in your $HOME (hidden dir ".Trash-something")
  • in your $XDG_DATA_HOME - usually ~/.local/share
  • at the root of every partition
removing all these once should be enough.
