Google Chrome won't start after upgrade to Fedora 31

Recently upgraded to Fedora 31
Now 2 issues,

1. I get a prompt for password to keyring, never seen before, and do not know any password to this

2. Google Chrome won't launch, thinks for a minute or so then just disappears from top bar.

I CAN start Chrome from a terminal with
google-chrome-stable --password-store=basic

but not from the icon in Favourites or Installed Software list

Not too worried about item 1, but need to solve item 2.

I seem to recall the same issue when I went to F30, and found a solution on the web, but can't find one this time.

Advice appreciated

Hi rgriffiths9,

I'm not a Fedora user, but if I encountered this type of issue (your number 2), my first reflex would be to simply reinstall Chrome or, worst case, uninstall Chrome - reboot Fedora - reinstall Chrome - reboot Fedora -try Chrome.

There is undoubtedly a more elegant way to get your launch icon to work again, but you have to decide how much time you want to put into finding what that would be :-)

I suppose you *could* use whatever your desktop environment's function is for creating a new launch icon ...

Let us know how things go !
