emerald won't start at gnome boot - Debian Sid

The title pretty much explains it all - I'm running a gnome desktop environment with compiz-fusion. I've added the lines 'compiz --replace' and 'emerald --replace' to my start-up programs, but only compiz starts at boot. I have to manually start up emerald via 'Alt-F2'. Has anybody else had this problem?

I had the same problem in Ubuntu Hardy. What i did was sudo gedit /usr/bin/compiz-decorator and changed USE_EMERALD=from "no" to "yes". You can go to Advanced Desktop Effects Settings > Windows Decoration Preferences > the location of the file should be listed next to Command
