Duplicity backup failure involving a read-only file system

Dear LQ,

Duplicity backups fail with the following message:

Error opening file '/media/New Volume/duplicity-inc.20140922T194903Z.to.20140927T163730Z.vol1.difftar.gpg': Read-only file system

This came out of the blue a couple of days ago on a previously fully functional and up to date 64-bit installation of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Any constructive ideas would be most welcome.

Duplicity backups fail - resolved, I think

Thank you for the swift response. The problem appears to have resolved itself because last night's backup completed and another I tried this morning did also. However, out of curiosity I tried the command you suggested and this is what came back:

df: `/media/New Volume/duplicity-inc.20140922T194903Z.to.20140927T163730Z.vol1.difftar.gpg': No such file or directory
df: no file systems processed

Thanks again for your help.
