Hai

Okay I didnt want to make a lot of newer threads so I felt doing one would be better as I have several thoughts..

First, does anyone know where to go get the GNOME 2 sources? I found KDE 3.5 but not GNOME yet. Everything is about GNOME 3 which I have read isnt as featured as GNOME 2, which really wasnt tremendously featured already LOL.

Second, what about installing KDE 3.5 on Ubuntu 10.10? Again, all I can find is information for installing KDE 4, which I did do but I would like to add KDE 3 as well.

Third, one of the features I enjoy about KDE 3 and GNOME 2 is the top panel menu. I had the words at the top not icons to do whatever. However in KDE 4, all I can find are icons... is there a way to change that? Or does anyone know of a widget that can? Oh and in GNOME, you can display a username to the right, but I dont see that in KDE 4 either.

And lastly, when I was installing KDE it popped a message up saying that you cant run two login managers at once unless you edit a file. Does anyone know how to do that?

I think thats it LOL. thanks!

Thank you for the GNOME 2 sources!

The link for KDE 3 works but it wont show up as an option to choose in GDM

But I was playing with KDE 4 and I am getting it to look very similar to GNOME now. But how do I get to 3.5?

In KDE4 you can use the appmenu indicator along with the appmenu plasmoid.
