desktop-effects problem : Fatal: No sync extension


here is my detail :
OS : fedora 8 kernel 2.6.23.9-85
what i install : 7.11 driver form Ati.com and all compiz package. But I just want to use the basic desktop-effects.

I read some in other forum said that insert Load "extmod“ will make it work fine. But even i insert it, it dont work at all!
please help me.
P.S. one special thing is when I Minimize my Windows, the zooming background of it is black till it zoom to minimize.
