Can't find a distro for me

I tried a lot of distro in my life but any of them satisfied me.
I use Linux mint 12 kde right now but its just a big mess.
I am a guy that love personalization but i like to have a fast, lightweight and working distro.
I don't love Unity cause its too tablet for me but i think that distros like netrunner 4.1,fedora and pear os4 were great.
But i just can't choose from one of these.
Il love simplicity too and i hate desktops environnement were i can't manage my files and folders on my desktop.

From those one, what is the best distro for a guy like me?
or if you have any suggestions i am open!
Thanks a lot cause i am near to throw my pc out of my window !

Arch. You can build it to be exactly what you want it to be.

Arch has its own package manager called pacman.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners'_Guide is probably the best introduction to installing and using Arch.

The Arch Wiki is also an excellent reference, and not just for Arch.

Windows 7?

Have a look at distrowatch.com. I am impressed by the way they draw their conclusions.

Before you install, check on the distro's home page what desktop they prefer. That usually indicates that that DM is well supported. (It does not necessarily mean other DM are less well supported.)

It is very important that after you choose and installed a distro you stick with it and familiarize yourself for a certain period of time, a week or so. Only then you really evaluated it. If you throw out one distro after the other, you only waste a lot of time with installations and re-installations.

actually, thats make for 3 weeks with linux mint 12 kde and i hate it.
I love lxde because its lightweight and usable.
I check distrowatch for a long time and the problem is that theres too many distros.
Personaly,rpms or debs are ok.
And windows 7, i hate it! glitchy, buggy and too many viruses.
but your right,i need to try them for a long period for see how they are usefull.
I will try Mageia and fedora and see if the kde desktop from mageia is good.
If its crappy like mint,i will get a look at gnome 3 that look interesting but too far from what i am used to have for a long time.

If all these pre-made DE's and distro's are not what you want, you are going to have to learn a bit about how to set up one you DO like.
Start with a distro that is not tied to a particular DE (such as Arch or Debian) and add WHAT YOU WANT.
Build your own DE with a Window Manager & your required apps.

If you like Fedora try it with the XFCE spin. It's lightweight and has a more traditional UI.

Then why are you not trying some distros with LXDE? Like Mint LXDE, Lubuntu, Debian LXDE, Salix LXDE, ... .

none
the default is a text only install
you choose what you want

very customizable but is is in NO WAY " a simple" operating system to install

you decide on what YOU want and need it to have

if you do not like any of the "new" os's then there is
CentOS 6
or the very much OLDER Centos 5

but running a red hat install can be a challenge
