Using Mepis 8. Just reinstalled the OS but saved the Home directory. But one problem was not fixed. When KDE launches it tries to open Kpdf to read a pdf file that it thinks is in the /tmp folder but is not. So it reports in a window at launch the error: Error Kpdf Could not openfile:///tmp/filename.pdf
Can someone tell me what folder I need to look in to erase the launch of Kpdf when KDE opens?
I do not know what you mean "Screwdriver and Shifting Spanner".
I cannot find anythiing under Systems-> settings that has an advanced tab that indicates "session manager" .
When I look in /home/Mepis/.kde/Autostart it is opened with kwrite and half the characters seem to appear as a different character set....Nothng there gives enough readability to determine what is going on. What application should be used to open the autostart file so it can be fully readable?
The session manager is under K->Control Center->KDE Components->session manager. I opened session manager and restarted with an empty session for login.
I rebooted and that cleared it.....
Thanks, I learn something new every day.
