Lindows

Lindows looks like just Linux to me. How is it more like Windows? Is it open source free software? It is probably not because it is related to Windows. Does Lindows have a LiveCD?

Lindows is now Linspire.
It is based on a Linux kernel.
It is not Windows.
It is meant to appeal to Windows users.
It's open source software, for the most part.
The software itself is free, too, but they make you pay to download software via "Click-n-Run."

It does have a live CD. Visit the Linspire website.

I bet there is somewhere to download Linspire for free without point and click pay. Does anyone know?

Linspire often make "coupons" available to allow you to download it for free. A thread on this subject was recently posted - http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=344360 - this may still be valid.

That is the official and only way to get it for free online (unless you want to use the live cd).
