Boot Grafpup

I replaced a perfect working Puppy install with Grafpup. The installation went well, no problems with anything.

After install on HD trying to boot without any succes.

Boot stops at:

Welcome to GRAFPUP-2.0!
root@odin

I really don't know how to resolve this.

the boot was successful....all you need to do depending on whether you like cli magic is to addusers and passwd changes if you left default for root as grafpup and just importantly you need to have a X windows environment.

lets stay root

Code:

adduser (login name)
input passwd


passwd....to change root password from grafpup to whatever

startx....to config x windows

I prefer Xvesa..arrow down to the one you want....select it.

I then had to reboot.....it failed the first time so command reboot

report if any probs

Done!

I have now a root account with a new password and I switched the login screen from text to graphical.

Login with grafpup / grafpup is not possible and if I make with the user manager a new user login is also not possible.

I switched again to the startup textmode and then I read something like missing home directory ---- /home/new user/

I am totally new to linux so I really don't know where to look for the problem.

yeah well I am not too sure which part of the error we have.

when you logged in....and started x ....you got a gui....and lots of setups that included graphical login stuff.

2) but maybe you did not setup a good xorg file.....can you advise what you did please.....and if you know...what can your monitor do...what is currently doing pls

3) so with root powers to added a user, are you saying that new user has no home folder?

I found out where the problem was through another thread on de forum.

The installation did not create an HOME Directory, see link:
