`libwebkit-1.0.la' is created from the webkit source. ( Or gtk-webkit source ? )
(The .la (.LA) file is a "libtool library file" : A very small text file,
most often about 1 kB, but libwebkit-1.0.la is 2.6 kB.)
'.la' files are not always installed, but easy to write.
Or edit from an already existing version.
"libwebkit-1.0.la" is attached as libwebkit-1.0.la.txt
.
Gentoo has a tool to fix la files, I don't know if it will solve your concrete problem. I'd suggest using it instead of doing manual changes because the problem with manual changes is that in a couple of month you won't remember what you did.
To use it, just emerge lafilefixer, and run "lafilefixer --justfixit".
