Works for me on a 200 watt per channel amplifier with big speakers in the M/C shop. It reminds me of 1/2 the bars I used to party in. In Florida. Back in the late 70's. Like the Whipping Post in Tampa Florida.
I was a free wheeling scooter tramp back then also. Just getting into the life style.
I have been buying high-quality small speakers (none bigger than 4", 10cm ish) for years now, am up to 12 (could not have cost me more than $40.) Hook them up in sets of 3 to a Kenwood KR-4140 ($50 from a friends storage long ago) if I ever pull my big speakers out it will be to sell as the small ones sound amazing. Got to love thrift stores, rummages and such especially for LPs. Got a professional fog machine a few years back ($10) great for Halloween, this year we are gonna put it in a clear tent on the lawn when they walk by something scary will pop against the plastic from hiding (and maybe https://youtu.be/YQB_XovbEww Charles Manson - Always is Always Forever will play! Almost gave some people at the store a heart attack testing it, fire. )

Regarding Sound Systems - Ever since Bose achieved high sales with multiple small speakers introducing a psychoacoustically pleasing (for a short time) phase distortion, and combined with Thiele-Small speaker function parameters being folded back into both speaker and enclosure design, smaller speakers (and more of them) have been extremely popular for much the same obviously pragmatic reasons vinyl records and analog have all but been replaced to the loss of truly accurate sound systems capable of producing Live sound pressure levels without "ear fatigue" distortion - weight and bulk, and of course, expense. Those of you who have never heard a truly serious sound system, especially of more than 500 watts, don't know what you are missing.
It is possible these days to find a decent compromise in speaker size but this requires at the very least a 10 inch subwoofer, best if a dual coil, and no less than 6.5 inches for mids, and high quality tweeters. This is a valid improvement on the past. However, it is simply not possible to get even moderate sound pressure levels (volumes, for the layman) with less than 200-300 watts total system power, and much more is desirable. That fact has not changed since even as compressed as most recorded music is, it is still exceptionally dynamic, which in actual practice means if you are averaging 10 watts while listening at apartment levels, the extremes, especially in the lower bass regions, will require 200 watts on peaks or distortion will occur that interacts with all frequencies at all levels, producing "smear". Smear is only made worse, and constant, with many multiples of speakers in different planes.
My current system which also integrates my computer, sports a 12 inch dual-coil subwoofer driven by 600 (2 x 300) watts RMS. For now my 8 inch mids are passively crossed over to the ribbon tweets and driven by 2 x 200 watts RMS. I hope to soon add another active crossover and a 2 x 100 watt rms amp to dedicate to the ribbon tweets. They are only rated at 60 watts rms but it isn't wattage that kills most speakers, especially tweeters, but square wave (instantaneous rise time) distortion. The audio quality is nothing short of "eargasmic". I probably should mention I live in a rural location and my nearest neighbor is some 300 feet distant. : D
Whatever you are listening on, may it serve you well, but it may be useful to know what manner of tradeoffs exist when you consider your next sound purchase. For a reasonable compromise for common apartment listening from under 6 feet from the speakers. though these could benefit greatly from more wattage, this is a very affordable system with very good sound, probably better (even much better) than most PC users get to hear, though I would avoid the Wireless model.
I have seen people use these on HTPC systems and they are sort of OK but real Home Theater systems cost well in excess of $1000.00 USD... many well over $3000.00 USD. It just takes too much power and too large of speakers to cost less and sound remotely realistic with modern movie sound effects. For roughly $150.00 USD the Promedia 2s deliver a PC sound quality for Internet music and YouTube quality videos that will make most listeners wonder delightfully how they ever listened to anything less.

From above: 2 Climax SB-50 (can't find them on line but they seem professional with knobs on each side for mounting in clubs,) 2 Cambridge Soundworks \ PCWorks (look like the mini Bose cubes no woofer,) 2 Regent SA-SP3 and 6 JVC SP-XC37-C (still marked $10.91 for the "set" can't find either but are heavy JVC) you would never believe there's not a powered bass cannon hiding in the room, it's ghetto fabulous.

@Jamison2000e - As you may have gathered I'm decidedly old school where sound is concerned (possibly elsewhere as well) and while I have excellent Sennheiser headphones I use them for reference only (and an occasional dreamy experience ) but for regular listening I find there is just no substitute for massively moving air. When you feel the bottom end in your chest there is a physical and psychoacoustic effect unmatched any other way. There are proven physiological effects of many aspects of sound and music that don't occur, or at reduced amounts, with headphones.
This wouldn't be quite the same but could add more to the fun http://www.slashfilm.com/immersit-4d...entertainment/
makes your seat move for a "4D effect..." plus, keep in mind moderation for our inner lobes. What?

Mike Silver - Halfway house (EDIT: Bullshit. It is Halfway Home.)
Liz Meyer and Marc Cosgrove - Angel Of Paradise
Steve Miller Band - The Joker Goldie & The Gingerbreads - Look For Me Baby
I might listen to some music randomly and only come back to this thread as “certain” titles come up. It were, though, completely idiotic to expect you to be more interested in this one title than any of the others...
Sometimes it is frustrating to know not a single one of the titles listed in any one of the other posts, here. Reading “Slade” all of a sudden, somewhere, is such a relief...
Marius Müller-Westernhagen - Giselher
Jean Ferrat - Les Počtes
Edit: Jackie Leven - Some Ancient Misty Morning

I always like peoples music but then if there's "related songs" I like those too... Libraries will keep growing but we won't so: Hot Tamale song. https://youtu.be/eazesi2szhk
