Unable to access linux partition from windows. Help.
Hi all,
I have a 80GB HDD with 12 GB for Win XP pro and 60 GB for Suse 10.1 (KDE). I am able to access the windows partition through /mnt/hda1/windows/ but when I am in windows I am unable to access the Linux partiton. My Win XP is on fat32 file system and SUSE is on reiser file system and the rest is the swap partition. the problem is most of my files are on SUSE partition and not on Windows. So I have to reboot everytime to switch to linux to access those files.
I have tried searching on google but did not find anything similar to my problem.
Does anyone know how I can access Linux partition through Win XP pro? What do I need to do? Anything will help.
Windows does not know anything about Linux file systems including (AFAIK) ReiserFS. On the other hand, Linux does know about Windows file systems. Linux has been unable to write to NTFS partitions, but that is changing. However, to be on the safe side, if you want to share files between operating systems, you will need to put them on a FAT partition.

look here. A simple google search gave me a bunch of results.
Optiker, the OP is asking about accessing reiserfs from Windows.
-Tux,
Thanks! Just goes to show that I'm a Linux illiterate...I have no idea what you're talking about! I just thought he wanted to access files on his windows drives and personally found that utility very handy.
