Might be about xubuntu, but looks like a spam to me. The links point to what looks like could possibly be a trojan site. I'm not clicking. He should have posted the download section of the main xubuntu site.

No Trojans that I can see. But certainly is a bogus site as far as I can tell. Theres not even a link to Hardy. Just has a couple links to older versions. Not sure what to think....Pretty sure theres not reason for it to be on LQ.

I think you'll find that the OP runs his own mirror given the site name and the OP's name. It looks to be currently synching itself.

Hex - your arts link is stuffed btw

I see no malice--just a somewhat puerile counterculture site with what we used to call "gas-station art". OP's posting history shows some rational stuff.
In the modern PC lexicon, we call this "diversity"

I have amended the URLs to point to the Xubuntu mirror list. When downloading, always pick a mirror near to you to speed up the download and to relieve pressure on the mirror.

Or, given my experiences through the alpha/beta, wait a few weeks until it is a bit more polished.

Just a week ago I "totalled" one of my systems by merely doing an update.
I won't be recommending any of our LTS (virualized) systems be updated for a while.

Of course not. Mine is a perfectly legitimate site.

Nothing bogus about it, other than my web development/graphic design ability. As for the link not being there--my bad. My excitement got the better of me. I visited the Xubuntu site and saw that the latest release is ready and was overcome with joy and the desire to spread the good news. All the while forgetting that cron is not going to rsync for another few hours. So I modified the mirror index and included a notice that Hardy is being downloaded.

Think this: A zealous Linux fan became overly excited about the latest release of his favourite distro and jumped the gun in advertising his mirror before it was ready.

Mea culpa, mea cupla, mea culpa

My applogies. Did I place my announcement for an amazing free & open source operating system in the wrong place forum? I'm also a member of LinuxForums.org and have placed the same post in their Classifieds forums. I couldn't see one on LQ so I posted in General.

One thousand pardons if I made a mistake. May something slightly unpleasant happen to me, like an egg falling on my head.

You have not done a BAD thing.....Maybe the only reason you were razzed a bit is that you post was a bit like standing on a street corner with a bullhorn telling everyone that some new movie had just been released.

Is the mirror site one of the official ones? If not, have you thought about submitting it to Xubuntu?
