a bit off topic, but oh well

the real solution to any linux problem can be found using any (or all) of the following methods:

a) post the problem here and wait 30 minutes
b) linux google it
or
c) rtfm until your eyes bleed

the real solution is to put all M$ CD's in the microwave and watch the pretty fireworks while you let your cat delete (and write over) all partitions.....

...then get a new distro

C? what is rtfm?

and to add to that list

d) find a mentor in linux to help you though some of the hard things.

ive been lucky that i found someone willing to help me with resolving issues and learning more about linux faster then before.

this site is great, but i dont always get an answere in a timly fassion if i get one at all. it really helps to have a friend who knows.

Thanks Stephen.

i belive you, i just find it funny.

yes getting a good book helped me greatly this time around. i picked up Beginning RedHat 9 by the wonx group. for me it was very easy to follow as it was written a lot like the MCSE books are so it just clicked with me.
