The scam artists are everywhere!!

Every now and then New York City sheds light upon a new scam used by thieves to trick people out of their money. A recent tale of folks being bilked out of $200.00 apiece for a round trip fare to ride the Staten Island ferry made headlines. ( The Staten Island ferry is free. ) I came across this list of criminals today and I'm passing it on to LQ members who might like it!!

"sheds light?"

How about "provides the perpetrators and the willing victims all in one convenient locale."

There was a scam artist operating out of the Tusayan (AZ) airport, near Grand Canyon, who was selling tickets to the elevator to the bottom.

If you are really worried about this sort of thing, the book to read is: Social Engineering: The Art of Human Hacking

You will never again be blind to such scams unless you choose to be.
