What do you think happens when spyware designed to work with Windows is attempted to be put on Linux? Most likely nothing happens.

I would think that they make a version for linux that works for a while until its detected. Of course the windows version would not even download.

We need to watch out for that, true! Still a whole ton of people use windows, its worth their time to make viruses and such for windows.. it might not be worth their time to do these things for linux..

Not to mention ; Coding/scripting garbage like virusses and spyware for linux is asking a tad too much from these poor sobs in most cases.

Usually , if a coder's good enough to make crap like that work on a linux-box , he's already way beyond the point of "Hey dude! Check out what I can do.."

Although I'm told there are a few sad exceptions....

Hackers have no life, or they have a life of being a hacker.. I don't know.. but the thing is they still interest me, I gues all criminals interest me, they are all somewhat crazy, or 100% crazy.. Viruses are crap... I have only got on in the past 7 years when I started really with the whole email thing, I got my first e-mail address when I was seven, yet I can't remember what program I used, but I remember it all being Text Based.. and not that I knew what that was.. and sense my grammer sucked back then I am sure I don't think I ever sent mail, but I do recal getting mail from my dad.. Yeah he exposed me at an early age to all of this stuff.. used a mac till I was 10 and got a PC, Still had the mac intill it was sold.. Got Linux alittle over a year ago....

Steven SHUT UP!

I know there is some kind of difference, but when you are as tired as me, and you brain as stopped working right and you have lost it.. well you tend to forget these things.. HAHA!

Correct me if I am wrong..

Hackers are the good guys who just want to "hack" and learn more about a certian thing..

Crackers are the bad guys who "crack" into systems and do bad things..

Quietguy ; That was the most beautifull answer to that particular question , I've ever read.
I have it bookmarked. (Is that a real word?)

Cookies and web bugs are as effective in a linux system as they are in windows or mac or anything else.

Run a proxy server such as junkbuster or privoxy to block those.
