I don't know that it could claim to be the smallest Linux computer but I bought a Raspberry Pi the other day and I have to say that having raspian on it makes it a doddle to so that things I want as I've done them all before on real or virtual Debian instances on my desktop. To me that's why I don't thonk of Android as "real Linux" because it's too far away from just using apt-get, yum, slackpkg, compiling from source or other familiar install methods.
Furthermore Android does, lurkily, dirty things in the background (in terms of processes, OS speaking)

Do you have links to examples of this? I've only (briefly) owned one Android device and I can't say I liked it any more than iOS or the Windows Phone offerings I've tried but I never got to look at what it sent where.

The performances of Android in terms of speed arent fantastic. Are you a fan of Android?

I don't know where you would get the idea that I was a fan of Andriod from my post or what performance has to do with anythiong? I was asking whether you had any evidence of Andriod doing somethong malevolant in the background. I am asking for facts because I am interested in learning things. I'm not a kid looking to score poont about favourite, or not, operating systems.
Sorry for the harsh reply but I get a bit worn out by people who think criticism of an operating system is somehow about whixh is "best".

Why pay $15 for a WiFi module to attach to your embedded CPU? Why not use a module that runs Linux and WiFi in the same chip for $15?

AWM002 is a module based on the Ralink RT5350with 32MB of RAM and 8MB of flash, Ethernet and 802.11N support too.

First you ask for discussion wanting others to share their opinions. Then you state one side of the argument is invalid. Make up your mind. Do you want discussion of different viewpoints or others to stroke your ego by agreeing with you?

Google is Linux, so, why cannot we call Linux instead of Google, then?
Do you really expect to post nonsense like this and have a serious discussion?
