Question re installation of grub in Linux mint after installing xp over mint

Hi every one. Actually I had installed linux mint previously in my system. But when i installed Windows XP over it the grub screen is not visible.
So can any one tell me some procedure to re install grub in my system?

assuming mint is a live cd

boot it

Code:
su
grub
root (hdx,y)
setup (hd0)
quit
if grub not found on cd...error will be command not found
if grub is good message after setup command will be grub embedded....succeeded

x and y depend on where / or /boot is read my signature for more info

but I suspect ms is on 0,0 so it will be 0,1 or 2 etc
