I am giving my gf my laptop and currently shopping for a new one. I was thinking about purchasing one from emperorlinux.com and I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with them.
What would you rate the laptops shown on the site?
Is there support decent or is it very poor?
I see their prices are a bit high is it worth paying the extra?
If anyone else can offer any other advice or their personal experience with this site then that would be a great help. I have done my own search but wasn't able to find anything worth noting about this site.
Consider buying a System76 laptop. They're less costly than the Emperor Linux laptops, and I know a few people on the Ubuntu Forums who've bought from System76 and been quite happy about it.
Personally, I love my IBM T40 and would recommend the Thinkpad line. They may be more expensive than other models, but they totally rock. Just my 2 cents, others may have other suggestions.
Check out the LQ HCL for more opinions, good luck with it
most any brand has produced good and bad models. usually I stil to the corporate models since mine is used as a laptop and they are usually built a little sturdier and have less odd chipsets and such.
