Wink Online With Linux

I ordered a US Robotics 5686E external serial modem from newegg this week and it came in today, so when I got off work tonight I hooked it all up and in a matter of a few short minutes I was Online with Mandrake. Right now I am using Galeon to type this post. This feels so good I guess that I will have to start surfing LQ.org in Linux now instead of Internet Exploiter. I just thought I would let everyone know that I got online with linux Thanks to everyone at this site this is a great site.

YYYYEEEEAAAAHHHH

Thanks again everyone for the guideance and sharing your knowledge

Woohoo! I remember those days, it's so much easier to fix problems when you can search for them on the OS needing the fixing

Cool

Oh, I can't resist adding my congrats too...that wonderful feeling when suddenly *everything works* and you fire up Mozilla or Galeon (or even Konqueror ) for the first time...and there's LinuxQuestions.org on your chosen distro at last...what a great moment.

And my personal feelings of triumph when I (a) collected all of my mail, under all of my user IDs, on linux, for the first time and (b) when I unpacked my first tarball and installed a proggy all on my own...

it's basic stuff, but I known squat about computers, so all of this has been truly amazing for me. And of course I've learned much, much more about my system and about computing in general thro' using open source than I did in *an entire ten years* of windoze usage.

Good luck to you.
