Oh, I can't resist adding my congrats too...that wonderful feeling when suddenly *everything works* and you fire up Mozilla or Galeon (or even Konqueror
) for the first time...and there's LinuxQuestions.org on your chosen distro at last...what a great moment.
And my personal feelings of triumph when I (a) collected all of my mail, under all of my user IDs, on linux, for the first time and (b) when I unpacked my first tarball and installed a proggy all on my own...
it's basic stuff, but I known squat about computers, so all of this has been truly amazing for me. And of course I've learned much, much more about my system and about computing in general thro' using open source than I did in *an entire ten years* of windoze usage.
Good luck to you.
