novell shop recommends ie browser

Dear Felicia N

How can you recommend I use I.E Browser??
I am totally against using any Windows products.
I have been using Suse for the last 4-5 years, and you develop a
shopping website for opensource products, but you want me to use IE. You
must be crazy. I think I must publish your reply on the opensuse forums.

Thanks

H

Silly

This message, as clearly indicated by the URL, doesn't even come from a Novell website. They've clearly out-sourced this bit.

This is not the best way to try and get an organization to change their ways. Much better to point out (politely) that Firefox now represents a significant percentage of all web browsing, and that they will be losing business by not supporting it. Publishing their reply on a forum will not likely make an impression.

Have you heard of the pact between M$ and Novell ? I don't think there are many who don't know about it.

Yes, I know about it. I disagree however that there are many who know *about* it, what there is are many who know *of* it. There is an important difference between the two. Because this "pact" is a very boring legal agreement concerning intellectual property relating to specific technologies (such as Microsoft's virtualization technology). It has absolutely nothing at all to do with anything else.

Conspiracy theorists should go back to ranting about area 51 and stop distracting the Open Source community with their rantings.

And again, the site mentioned at the start of this thread isn't even a Novell site - look at the URL. They've outsourced this part of their system. If you've dealt with outsourcing you'll know you end up with very little specific control over the crap you get back.

its still pretty ridiculous that a site selling opensource software, makes you use a proprietary browser
