Linux in Russia

Hi,

I have to write a strategic report looking at how Linux distributors can increase their share of the Russian Linux subscription marketplace in partnership with Government and suppliers.

I've searched Google without much success. Is anyone aware of any strategic analysis (Porter, value chain etc) on this marketplace and can you share it with me ?

Thanks.

Ekk, I have not heard much about Russia using linux but are inclined to believe that it's probably quite widespread considering theith economy.

Other nations that have really incorporated linux regard India, a lot of Europe, China, and other Asian nations. You might find more information on other nations if you are able to change your topic.

Another angle that you could choose would reference the success of linux in other nations regarding cost, deployment, ect and make a statement that Russia could benefit from using linux. By showing your research of how other nations have benefited considering the state of the Russia economy.

I would also include that rate of the development considering the linux operating system. Considering linux has come a long way the last couple of years. From what I have read. Most of the linux kernel development is coming from India. So, look at India's econmy which is up and coming. At this time the United States is pretty much building the Indian middle class with our I.T. outsourcing. What benefits
