I don't want to offend anyone..actually I don't care that much. This is just so much crap. I don't think this is a satire, it is really just another website created by some bible thumpers that want to take the fun out of everything and turn people into pathetic mindless sheep (not that they aren't already, but that's another story. This crap pisses me off more than microsoft fud.

Don't get me wrong, I am not against spirituality, and I don't want to start a debate with christians because that has been going on for 2000 years and never leads to anything but bloodshed. But this website, and that style of fire and brimstone religion are absolutely disgusting. The fact that any rational adult could buy into this crap makes me really feel that the human race has lost any sort of hope for the future. This site talks about thinking for yourself, so do so: Stop reading that drivel, leave that website and start thinking for yourself.

Do you really believe that apple macs are based on darwinism? Do these daemons work without your knowledge putting your cpu cycles to work for satan? Does typing 'chmod 666' unleash some secret spell that lets the devil walk on earth?

Step back a second and think about how f*ck#ng absurd that is. To anyone who may be buying into that crap" please don't procreate...we don't need anymore of you.

Again...not trying to start a fight here. You can have free will and spirituality at the same time. If you don't see how then you haven't really learned anything from your religion have you?

See you in hell.

its not very far, much better than the distance people in the bailey colleges have to walk. but if you think thats a hill, wait till you see cardiac hill. about 75 meters of pure 40 degree steepness. being a compsci you might be lucky enough to not to have any lectures up there though.

I don't know what all the fuss is about. After a fresh install, I always remove the daemons from my system by dunking it in a tub full of holy water. To fully get rid of all the daemons, the key is to keep it plugged in and turned on :-]

bulliver, like you said, this has been going on for 2000 years, and here we are today. Like someone once said "same ol, same ol". There will always be people who believe in just about anything. It used to bother me more when I was younger, but anymore, I just let it slide. Let them worry about there problems.

Capt_Caveman, are you sure that will get rid of all those damm daemons? As soon as I can get my hands on some holy water, I will give it a try.

well, things will probably change more these days now (at least in the west) with how science is advancing, and when people begin learning some of the most complicated aspects of how things work, "god made it work" just doesnt cut it.

I have a spiritual side, i dont know for sure whether i believe there is one god of all that controls the universe, but i do believe there is more to life than what we see with our eyes.

The problem is that people take it to the extreme. Most religions only exist because it explains things that we cant explain (what happens when we die for example) or things that seemed impossible thousands of years ago (but arent today)

Why does everyone have to believe one particular religion? isnt it more important to try and find the answer within yourself?

What a strange little site full of paranoid rants - this intro on another page is amusing too.

Quote:
Hello, my name is Dr. Richard Paley. I am a Creation Scientist. This means that I study the Natural World to find evidence of the handiwork of the Lord and His divine act of Creation. Creation Science is the root science of all sciences; without it, none of the discoveries from other scientific fields makes any sense. Creation Science lets us put biology, geology, physics, and sociology all into a proper Biblical perspective, unifing our knowledge and bringing us closer to the Lord.

Here Skyline, let me pass that through my BS-filter:

Hello, my name is Dr. (a title that I assure you is real and worthy of your respect) Richard Paley. I am a walking oxymoron. This means that I subvert real science by ignoring all evidence that does not support my position and instead attribute all things I judge to be good to my Imaginary Space Pixie's creative act. Since I'm a lying sack, I claim my work to be a type of science and that all other sciences are based on my brand of science. Without it, I would have a hard time maintaining the delusion that all things, in order to make sense, must be viewed in terms of my particular religion's book. As soon as we shoehorn all legitimate science into the perspective of my invented meta-science, all sub-branches of knowledge will become indistinct and we will all have an improved relationship with said Imaginary Space Pixie.

First of all I want to say that I'm not writing this to bash anyone but.........as a born again Christian I can say, unequivocally, this is absolute nonsense. There are some people/groups that are all about their rules that have nothing to do with the Bible and they are not a proper representation of genuine Christianity. Christianity is about a loving relationship with God not about rules, standards, and dictates. It just stuns me what jibberish people spew under the guise of Christian instruction.

For example... Colossians 2:8 "Don't let others spoil your faith and joy with their philosophies, their wrong and shallow answers based on men's thoughts and ideas, instead of on what Christ has said." God knew that people would make up their own versions of what he said. In John 10:10 Jesus says that he came that we could have life and have it more abundantly. Not live a repressed life where we're afraid of anything we don't understand. Linux seems to follow Christian principles quite a bit actually. A large group of people working together for a common goal where it's not about getting wealth but helping each other and making things (computers) better.

What I'm trying to say is just because someone says "I am a Christian and what you are doing is wrong" that doesn't mean that they're right.

I hope I haven't gotten too preachy but this topic really bothered me.
