1. Get an install CD
2. Place in the CD drive
3. Reboot and follow the instructions

Install CDs are available in many ways: Magazines, mail order (Google using "linux CD"), websites for major distibutions, User groups, and more.

This will give you LOTS of ideas on getting started--including links to where to get a CD:

I've sent this link on to a few friends who have expressed an interest in experimenting with Linux. Great work! Thanx!

ROTFL!!

Wow, you should get an award for this!
Incredible.

You might want to include the easylinux-installer thing. It makes setting up even easier. The link is in my signature.

---edit---
I realized this might sound sarcastic. It's not. Great job. It's just that I've never seen such a n00b-proof walkthrough.
