How to play mpg?


Hi everyone. I am not using mplayer9.0 to play music, anyone knows how to play mpg files? Coz I can hear the sound but not video. It will be good if someone can recommand me other good applications. Thanks in advance.

mplayer, xine and many others.. What have you tried to fix your problem using mplayer? Anything at the most? mplayer is probably the most recommended to play media type files.

It should work if you just enter "mplayer filename.mpg" at a console. The file should start playing automatically in fullscreen mode. If you have mplayer-gui installed, type "gmplayer filename.mpg" to get the gui opened.

Xine will also play mpg files. Noatun is another one that will work.
