How to backup digital music collection??

Let's say one has 10GB of mp3s,m4a,wav,aac, etc. music on their computer. How should one back it up? I have a dvdrw drive, but in the past have gotten cyclic redundancy errors burning many gigs on a dvd, dvds are expensive, and I want to be able to update the backup...should I use dvd-rws and not dvd-r/+r? Any other way? I am open to any ideas.

Note: I have all music managed in iTunes.

I use rsync and mirror to an external hard drive once a week. I'm trying to get hold of a second external hard drive so I can rotate them.

Yea, Im thinking of getting an external HDD with USB. I should mention my music collection is on a laptop running winxp.

Dual layer dvd + one more dvd.

Dvd R s are slightly better to read from.
