Question How do you add a .txt file to a domains base directory

I am basically computer illiterate...

I have been trying to become an affiliate memeber of ebay and they requested that I upload a .txt file to the base directory of each of the domains I want to register. Can someone explain in plain english how this is done? I have 2 web sites that I want to register but I did not create the web sites.

Since you did not create the Web sites, you presumably purchased those sites from someone. (Or are you trying to register sites you don't own? That would be, at best, problematic.)

Anyhow, this sounds like a commercial question unrelated to Linux. Why don't you ask either eBay or, better, the person or company from whom you purchased the sites for advice and assistance?

I can't see any mention of Linux at all - moving this to General.
