How can I make the OS to display, .../proc/meminfo (please read below)?

I know there is a file, or something that to the end user looks like a disk file, whose complete file name ends in 'proc/cpuinfo'. Another one is proc/meminfo. How can I make the OS to display, say, .../proc/meminfo?

EDIT: I've just remembered. The complete filename is just '/proc/cpuinfo'. Beg your pardon.
