You have Scripture in your sig, so how can you say this? What is the place?

Salparadise,

When you post a sig such as yours, you are identifying with the Name of Jesus Christ. You should reflect His character, which is not what this thread you started reflects.

Just wanted to publicly remind you, for the LQ world is watching. So is He.

Because of Jesus Christ, who is worthy of the reward for His suffering.

I'd like to strike number 2 from the list of so-called anti-american propaganda.

1. Outgunned.. hmm.. You've never been to Texas have you?

2. Outnumbered, yeah, got us there. We definitely can't outnumber the rest of the world, but we are the best fed and fatest country so there..

3. Outresourced, nah, probably not. We got plenty of resources.

4. Outsmarted. I don't believe that. Hell, we invented or found electricity. If it wasn't for us we'd still be living in the dark, lighting candles, hunting for our food before the sun went down. And also to point out that are Defense is light years ahead of most countries on this planet. Japanese might have taken the car market from us and then audio and video market away but we still beat everyone for having the biggest computer companies in the world.

That's my two cents.. I really only wanted to comment on the outgunned cause I know that isn't true. Hell, Bob down the road carries 3 rifles in the back of his truck alone on the gun rack he made out of lead pipes and scrap wood. Who knows how many more guns he might have at home..

Cheers.

Truck? I'm looking at five right now. They are about 5 feet from me. You may want to come looking for me but you better be friendly about it. If not you may

I doubt we are out gunned either. Take away the military and I still don't think nobody would mess with us, not face to face. Well, California and New York city maybe. I'll let them talk their way out of it. If they want gun control, fine, let them defend themselves. That'll change their mind a bit.

Nothing like have a high on crack, don't give a hoot about life, nut pointing a gun to your head to change your mind about gun control. I'll keep mine thank you. The law takes to long to get here. Last time was about twenty five minutes. That's a long time when somebodies pointing one at you. They all look like canons too.

Glad I live in Mississippi. No gun control here. Only Florida and Texas have us beat on that.

Later

I hate to argue with a mod but...

Around 600 BC Greeks found that by rubbing an 'electron' (a hard Fossilised resin that today is known as Amber) against a fur cloth, it would attract particles of straw. This strange effect remained a mystery for over 2000 years, until, around AD 1600, Dr William Gilbert investigated the reactions of amber and magnets and first recorded the word 'Electric' in a report on the theory of magnetism.

Gilbert's experiments led to a number of investigations by many pioneers in the development of electricity technology over the next 350 years.
I just had to go and ask the great and powerful Google.

Well maybe if the rest of the world (the UN) would leave the US alone and stop pushing us to accept socialism over capitalism you would think otherwise.

Exclamation here we go again.

And in responce to our fine English friend I retort.

1. The U.S. is the largest consumer market in the world, and as such people tend to put its name at or near the top of country lists. It is done so that the majority of customers don't have to scroll all the way down to our country name. (I know it's lazy, but hey we are fat and lazy right?)

2. Outnumbered? Definently. I see the lack of overpopulation in my country as a benefit. 99% of people I have met have no business breeding.

2a. Outgunned. That is funny. I personally own 12 firearms, and I am not even in the Army. When you measure who is outgunned, don't forget about the 200million or so home gun owners in this fine land. We'll take all comers.

3. With no disrespect meant to our friends from across the pond, I don't give a crap about how sick the world is of our culture. Don't want it? Don't buy it. Elect leaders who are not such pansies who roll over when our president speaks.

4. Why they advertise products that are not available in the market being advertised to I will never understand. It's one of the mysteries in the mind (or lack thereof) of U.S. advertisers. They do that domestically as well (by state). Drives us nuts.

5. As for people wanting to be American, I only believe that people who immigrate here want to be American. If a person chooses to stay in their home country (voluntarilly) than it is a safe bet that they don't want to be American. Who cares? I don't want to be Saudi, so I don't move there. (no offense Saudis, I just don't dig the desert)

6. "The Internet is not a U.S. possetion." How right you are, and I wish other countries would pressure the U.S. govt. to stop trying to legislate something they have no clue about.

7. "The world is not American" Now on that one I have to quote "People who live in glass houses should never throw stones.". Remember the old saying "The sun never sets on the British Empire"? We may be arrogant, but we have never pulled off such a feat, and likely never will.

8. On the issue of joining the human race? What is keeping us out of the club? We produce massive amounts of food, develope some pretty cool medications (albeit at rediculous prices) and are partially responsible for the financing of some of the worlds largest health and human rights agencies.

9. Sandbags will never stop Tomahawk missiles.

Edit: And God invented electricity, we just mass-cultivated it.

sure...a kite in the sky during a thunderstorm...we discovered electricity...uhh no...maybe we found a good use for it in its naturally occuring large doses called lightning (making idiots who would hold that kite into light shows) unfortunately people werent smart enough to understand the implications and the idiots still roam in force...

Okay, we then put it to good use instead of just rubbing stuff together to create a small electric charge..

Hong Kong. Hong Kong. Hong Kong?

Free Market and Fair Way are total opposites tainted by History.

Capitalism leads to a polarized community. Leading to an underclass. Leading to desperation. Leading to exhaustion. Leading to frustration. Leading to anger. Leading to hate. Leading to moral slavery.

Socialism leads to dependency. Leading to fear. Leading to inertia. Leading to no-where.

There is no fair way only a balanced mix that allows people to deal with their emotions and step off when they feel they want to and step back on when they need to.

gun controll... if it was there, the half-crazed lunatic wouldn't have the gun anyway....

Hollywood: biggest gripe: renting movies for sleepovers. We only get hollywood movies (some aren't bad) but there is no way they'll watch anything that the peer group hasn't watched before. This was reinforced by "The Bumble Bee Flies Anyway" (has Elijah wood) (pre LOTR I think)

</end gripe>
