Angry gone pete tong since installed vista support pack 2, no sound and lots more

put support pack 2 on for vista, have no sound, probs printing etc. reloaded original discs, all few years old now, Vista, Virgin broadband, printer disc, still no sound, check for no mutes etc says speakers and device working properly, bought driver robot, ran scan and driver downloads etc, still no sound, and now has prob with ethernet device. I dont know any technical stuff at all PLS HELP

not suprising, i have vista updates disabled because:
microsoft actually puts spyware in the updates!
they usually break things.
go to the control panel, click the system icon, in the left top corner click device manager and look for any orange circles with '!'s in them.
if you see one, right click it and click properties then click update driver.
