I was watching Fight Club yesterday and was wondering...
When that dude goes in his imaginary icey cave to find his 'power animal', he sees a penguin that says 'slide'.... and the penguin slides away.
Does anybody know if this is related to Tux racer; just a question
I thought he was just crazy & sleep deprived. I don't think it had any real symbolism or meaning nor was it derived from anything. Just my thoughts though. Great film.
Definitely Linux related! No, I really doubt that the person who decided to put a Penguin there was thinking about tux when he did that. But you never know...
Hey if anyone can find out the email address of someone involved with the film I would be more than happy to pop them over an email and ask.
I have to agree with lackluster, the film was really good.
Btw, when the guy talks about companies taking over everything he mentions planet IBM, galaxy Microsoft and something something Starbucks
This could be a pro-linux movie :lol
Paulahnuik (I just butchered that spelling), wrote the book first around '93... and the penguin is in the book. I kinda doubt that he knew about Linux way back when, but it had me wondering too the first time I read it.
Keep in mind that almost all of the effects studios now use linux, there is even a version of The Gimp, called Film-Gimp that was used for the scoobie doo movie amongst others, so it's not impossible that some of the film-geeks may be sneaking in subliminal tux messages.
