Unfortunately acid is right. The only sure fire way to get your account deleted is to post a bunch of spam.

Some forums have an a button in the preferences to delete your account.

Sometimes people know they will forget about a forum for a while and come back, and probably forgot there pasword and will create a new account. Iam supprised on how some forums have still kept my accounts for such a long time, I wonder if anyone maby liked the name and hacked it and uses it instead of me?

On some sites, I forgot my old password, and my old email address is abandoned too. There is no way for me to recover such an account.

I remember registering to another forum, came back years later and couldn't remember the login or password... just made a new account.
