Is there a way to convert the RAW file system in properties of the removable disks back to FAT32?
By accident it must have come to the regrettable change
to RAW file system in the first place.
Check if this matches your case: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=247575 (FAT32, primary boot sector corruption, chkdsk, dskprobe.exe). If that doesn't match you could try (any Live CD containing) Gpart or Testdisk.
