cats...

I've never considered myself much of a cat person. I have always had dogs of one kind or another. But since my divorce ( 3+ years) I can't have dogs where I live. I have inheriterd my daughter's cat and I have some questions for anyone who might consider themselves a cat expert.

1. Why does my cat insist on watching me ... sit on the toilet (wc for the British dudes). I mean, it's kinda creepy.

2. My cat used to drink out of the water bowl just fine. But, about a year ago, I got an aquarium with an over-sized filter and the cat would drink out of the filter. Now the stupid cat won't drink ot of anything but the aquarium. If I left a bowl of water on the ground and covered the aquarium, the cat would be dead from dehydration in 4 days. (stupid cat) What's up with cats and running water?

3. When ever the cat want's to be fed, it will walk in front of me as I walk into the kitchen. Then it stops short just in front of its food bowl so I trip over the stupid thing (usually when the lights are off). Then I get pissed (mad, not drunk, for the Brithish dudes) and I say "stupid cat. I'm not feedin' you now" No question here. Just a rant.

4. The cat will be outside and cryin' to get in. I go and open the door and the cat walks half-way in and smells the door and looks at me. The amount of time that it takes for the stupid cat to come inside is directly proportional to how cold it is outside and how much of a hurry I might be in.

Stupid cat ....

Well, just a cat rant...
Actually, she is a cool cat.

By the way, has anyone seen the commercial where the cat is hunting the zebra? That cracks me up

I know. Pointless post.

The cat is staring at me..... I have to go.

woof

had 2 cats growing up and they did the same things, they do not like water sprayed on them though, long long time ago, my brother and I came home drunk about 3:00am and decided to hunt our cats with a spray bottle of water, my mom did not appreciate this at such a late hour

Franklin,

Here are a few thoughts (and observations of my own) regarding your post:

1. I don't know...perhaps it's like mine and wondering what the h%$* I'm doing.

2. Only God knows. I've given up trying to figure my cat out...mine doesn't go for the toilet. He does love the bathtub right after I shower--he'll wait until I'm done, then climb right in....I could put water out all over the house before I leave for work and I come home and the bathtub is bone dry and he hasn't even touched the water bowl.

3. Funny...mine doesn't do that. Maybe because I've stepped on him (in the night) too many times so he knows to stay out of the way.

4. Mine is an indoor cat. He acts like the wannabe hunter wanting to get at a bird he sees, looking out the living room window, but when he sneaks out every so often, he's so petrified of the outdoors he practically shreds the screen door trying to get back inside.

Cats definitely are their own animal. I've never owned two that have had all the same habits. Many are the same, but several are different. What's really crazy is that my cat could be ignoring me all day, but when it comes time to feed my infant son his bottle, the stupid cat is up in my lap too--practically sitting on top of my son....go figure

Cats are people too. And they have their own agenda.

I love all animals, I perfer cats, maybe its because they are smaller then dogs, and more calm then small dogs. They are picky, but hey thats the fun part about them.. Cats like watching things, our cat will walk across the computer keyboard and sit staring at you, which will get annoying when you are trying to do something, we also have to keep the cat from putting her paws on LCD screens on our laptops when we are using one of those.. or should I say when my parents are using one of theirs ..

Anyways I was about to get way off topic there.. I love cats, we have a dog and a cat, and a couple of hamsters and fish.. and we are wanting a couple of birds and another dog and/or cat...

Note to self... no more posting after drinking

But, since it's too late now...

The "My Cat Hates You" site cracked me up.

Any body here use Pan? When you post, in the header after identifying the news reader it says "I'm being nibbled to death by cats". The previous version had some other cat thing too.

What's up with that?

I gotta get to work on my home page so I can post useless crap too. dfnhj,m875.jnnmjnmk
As soon as I can get this thing off my keyboard. (meow)

I love animals too. I think they're great. Too many damn people are cruel to animals.

Ok....on to the questions.

1. My cats do the same thing. I think it's funny

2. Cats will seek out the freshest water they can find. They also become used to what they do. They're very structured animals.
For some reason I would set a glass of ice water out for me, and my cats would start drinking from it. So now I put a glass of water on the table for me, and one for them, and they drink out of a glass. They don't touch their water bowls I think that's great.

3. Mine do the same. I don't get pissed. I'm happy they love me so much (or at least I like to think so). I just feed em when they're hungry. Most of the time I leave dry (crunchy) food out so they have something if they are hungry.

4. I don't like to leave cats outside. Mine are purely inside cats. I've seen too many dead cats on the road because people leave them out.
--------------
On an extra note. I don't believe in having them "declawed" either. It's wrong, and it hurts the hell out of them. One of the only ways for a cat to keep its muscles in its front legs strong is to grab something with it's claws and strech real hard. Without claws they do the same motion but it don't help anything. Also, declawing hurts them in the later part of their lives....kind of like arthritis. I its like cutting our fingers off at the knuckle behind the fingernail. That's what declawing does. They don't just take out the claws. Lastly, it leaves the cat with no defense if it ever gets out.
--------------
Anyway.....cats are great. Animals are great. Cruel people can learn to go pick on someone their own size instead of a helpless animal.

Good day all...

We have a dining table chair with a cushion. Our cat thinks she owns it.

Mine doesn't have the same problem as yours. She drinks out of her bowl. Sleeps anywhere she pleases and if you shake a plastic bag she thinks it might be cheese and you better watch out

Then again, sometimes I think she is part dog. She has a toy she brings and when you throw it will fetch !!

I also love that commercial with the cat and the zebra. My cat would be the nearly the same except with longer hair and half a mustache.

When I get my first apartment in a few years I will get a cat I am sure, hell I will pay the extra rent to have one.. They are great pets, I don't why, but geeks seem to want cats more then dogs, not that we do not love dogs to.. Plus it costs more to have a cat then it does to have a dog in an apartment... anyways before I get way off topic like I always do..

I have heard some old people HAVING to declaw their cats because they are so old and if their cat ever scratches them it won't be good... now of course you might say they don't need cats then, and I don't want to argue.. If had a cat and a leather couch and that couch got ruined, then I would declaw the cat... If I had a dog that tore up things I would clip its nails so they wouold not be so sharp.. Its something you have to do around older people, and babies.. and leather couches..

We clip our cats claws every week. It's cool. It don't hurt them either. Just cut the tip off to make it dull.

I'm such an animal lover that if I had a leather couch and the cat tore it up, I'd buy another couch (but not a leather one, just cloth).

I love cats. They're great

Yeah, if you had cats it would not be all that good of an idea to own an expensive leather couch.. yet they do look really cool!
