The BBC are running a documentary series that's relevant to this thread: The Virtual Revolution.
Part 2 is available via the iPlayer (if you can get that), but part 1 seems to have disappeared.

For some weird reason, part 1 is somehow hidden, but it's there:

According to the BBC website, the service is only available for IP addresses provided by UK-based ISPs.

One could use a prepaid telephone card purchased with cash for access to an easily monitored RF network, but access to the InterNet through an ISP still remains a problem. If any of you know of an ISP who accepts cash payments, let us know.
I actually work for an ISP that can accept anonymous payments, although they could still pinpoint your location to within a half a block or so if a court order were produced.

Because you haven't paid your £142.50 — we don't get the BBC for nothing!

I think you all are confusing the internet for the World Wide Web. WWW should be destroyed, but the internet, with it's unix commands, servers in universities, bulletin boards and home grown ISP's should be allowed to stay.
Does anyone remember the day when SATAN was released on the Elvis server in Russia? Now them was exciting days.

I thought of it, but I remember "back in the days" you could search for ours without finding any decent proxys because the speed was terrible. And I'm not going to pay for one either. Anyway, I saw the intro on youtube, and I didn't find it very interesting, so I think I'll skip it
