arp poisoning Cisco counter measure?

I have come across several references on man in the middle attacks, such as ARP poisoning/spoofing.

http://su2.info/doc/arpspoof.php

I tryed this out on a simple switched network and it worked well. My question is, our Highschool runs Cisco 4000 and up switches. Do these switches implement any counter measures or detection against this type of attack? I am a head student tech for the Admin so please don't flame me saying im going to go sniffing data. Thanks.

I did a quick google search http://www.google.com/search?q=arp+poisoning+cisco
and it looks like the catalyst 4500 does implement some defense against that.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/...08019d0ca.html

I would search cisco's site for specific models to see if others do as well.
