i have a amd 900 on a dfi ak-74ec with a mx2 agp what´s the name for this plantform (arq)??

What do you mean by the name of the platform? CPU wise like i686 etc??

yes like i386, ppc, alfa.... with amd whats the name for pentiun is i386 aplle is ppc (power pc).thanks

The AMD K5/K6 series are in the i586 class, while the the Durons and Athlons are i686... generically they all fall into the i386 group of processors.

thanks Jharris

it means that if i buy the debian cd´s that are for alfa and i386 it will work on a 900 atlhon thunderbird thanks you really help me

The i386 disc will the fine - a distro for the Alpha processors definately won't work though!!!
